Privacy policy

This policy covers detailtheorystudio.com.au, run by Detail Theory (ABN 98 283 653 134), 25/49 Shore Street West, Cleveland QLD 4163. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you send a quote request we collect:

• your name, mobile number, email address and suburb
• details about your car and the services you’re interested in
• anything you write in the message box
• whether you’ve agreed to receive marketing emails

To stop spam, we also keep a one-way scrambled version of your internet address. It can tell us when the same connection sends many requests, but it can’t be turned back into your address.

Why we collect it

To reply to your request, prepare a quote, book and carry out work on your car, and register coating warranties. If you tick the marketing box, we may also email you occasional offers and car care tips. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We use these services to run the site and the studio. They store or process your information for us:

• Supabase, which stores quote requests
• ServiceM8, our job management system
• Resend, which sends our emails
• ImageKit, which stores and delivers images
• Netlify, which hosts this site
• Gtechniq, when we register a coating warranty

Some of these services store data outside Australia. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

The maps on this site use OpenStreetMap. When a map loads, your browser fetches map images from OpenStreetMap’s servers, which see your internet address. No cookies are set.

Keeping it safe

Quote requests are stored in a database that can only be read by the studio. We keep your details for as long as we need them to look after you and your car, and to meet our legal obligations.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or make a complaint, by emailing studio@detailtheory.com.au or calling 0481 185 504. We’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
